We have been asked by a House member not to say anything about the rumor that Speaker Lance Cargill got caught by the cleaning staff having sex with TW. Nor will we discuss the trip to Boston at the first part of this week.
These along with the several other rumors have plagued the young speaker. I know that he knows what I know as well.
We will however actively solicit photos for future posting. Kind of reminds you of the Gary Hart thing doesn't it.

| What a great way to show republican family values, by getting a blow job in the speaker's office. Keep it up, Mr. Speaker. |

I was hoping it was Trebor Worthen, but it seems not to have been. On an unrelated topic, the executive assistant on the Speaker's staff (no pun intended) has the initals TW.

| And throughout time hasn't there been a lot of hanky panky by high profile characters in elevators in the State Capitol after they stop it between floors? Or actually is it hard to have sex in the State Capitol elevators because an alarm would sound if the elevator is stopped between floors? |

| Well, if that's what the voters are willing to tolerate who put them in office, then that's just what we'll get. With conservative voters, it's probably far more vital for their politicians while in office to vote on the issues the far right way, and not necessarily to live it as well. |

from page 14 or 52 [PDF] SUMMARY OF LOBBYING EXPENDITURES http://www.ok.gov/~ethics/Reportsa.06.pdf
It appears the David Stephen Edwards gave 2 concert tickets to Rep. Lance Cargill in January 2006 and 1 concert ticket to Ms. Tammie Wright on January 10, 2006. (the "not given" was the name of Edward's business)
Did anyone see them at the Bon Jovi Concert at the Ford Center in OKC on January 14, 2006? Did David Edwards also attend? |

Whoops! So much for the $500,000 in funding the Legislature gave the "community or faith-based organizations" this year for abstinance only programs (SB-424, Section 4). |

I have long asserted that sexual misbehavior has nothing to do with a politician's ability to do his job. Bill Clinton, while being a terrible husband, was a good President regardless of his behavior.
Now, Cargill is now a terrible husband as well as being a terrible legislator. Blowjobs have nothing to do with job performance. ;)
But I suppose that doesn't stop me from babbling about it to as many voters as possible, right?

Caught by the cleaning crew? How embarrassing for poor Lancie!
Does this mean we can get our $500,000 back from that crowd of hypocrites at the "Office of Faith-Based Hypocrisy"?
Tim, tell us the rest of the rumors, about the "can't keep it in his pants" Mr. Speaker.
Who was "Mr. Holier than thou, Lance" screwing in Boston? |

We'll hafta agree to disagree on whether Bill Clinton did a good job as a president . . .
I'll argue that he did irrepairable damage to the working middle class when he signed NAFTA, GATT and WTO agreements . . .
Despite all the good he may have done, these agreements wiped all that out . . . |

Don't forget that while President Clinton, along with the Republican Revolution, made agreements that took away jobs, they also eliminated welfare, so the jobless will go hungry or turn to crime for survival. That's ok, they also enacted mandatory minimum sentences! These actions should qualify him as "cheap labor conservative" and not a fiscal conservative.
However, dispite his shortcomings, Bill Clinton seems like a saint compared with George W. Bush. |

I think the deification of Clinton presidency and the Regan presidency ignore the devastating effects both of these administrations had on working class families, yet they are revered as the greatest Presidents in my lifetime. Shameful. If Hillary(former Wal-Mart board member) is our nominee, I expect more of the same. |

WE WILL NEVER KNOW whether Bill Clinton could have been a good president or not. Think about it. During the first year he attempted an omnibus campaign finance reform. A democratic congress shot it down. For the first two years he seemed able to get nothing through congress. For the next 6 years he faced a republican congress. When you make a pact with the devil, you had better figure that the devil will be accounted for in the pact. For every good thing Bill Clinton did you will find that somewhere the devil got his due. Did he save us from the worst excesses of a republican congress? He looks better when you compare him to a clearly republican congress and George Bush.
Could we expect Hillary to do better? Perhaps it really depends on what kind of congress the nation sends her. Send her a republican congress and if she beats Bill it will be miracle. Send her a democratic congress with Waxman and Conyers and a half dozen really populist leaning heads and you might get something really worthwhile. They all are going to owe too much to their campaign financiers.
George Bush is going to be remembered as the best president th United States ever had. Here's how it can happen. He can be remembered as the most honest and the most loyal president ever. He has done just exactly what the guys that financed his campaign asked him to do. He's been loyal to them. He's been honest with them. They will now see to it the endowed chairs in history in their private schools write history to report this. If I'm wrong I'll apologize. |

Not Cargill. TW. One is a public figure, the other is not. And if the allegation is not proved, a private person has been defamed.

Carl, now you are starting to think the way I think . . . recall, however, the standard of evidence is "preponderance." All they have to do is disprove the assertions of this thread to demonstrate that; then comes the matter of ascribing liability, beyond the webmasters and site owners.
Good luck with all that . . . |

Read what was posted. It was never confirmed that Cargill's executive assistant was the TW sexually involved with the speaker. However some may find it interesting that she has these initials. Also interesting is the fact that she received concert tickets from the same lobbyist as Cargill. Do private persons receive gifts from political lobbyists?
In the civil process, discovery could prove interesting as well. |

Teucer, putting the pieces together and maintaining them with a wink and a nod does not absolve one of potential liability. The master of this site could bear some liability . . . the parts all fall together through efforts done here which might malign an innocent private person.
Be careful with innuendo, folks. Employees of public figures are not public figures.
Now I'll sit back, as usual, and take my completely objective and non-partisan pissing-on for ruining your party.

Mitch's statement about breastfeeding sounds preposterous but I wouldn't be surprised if it were true. I was shocked when I asked one of my young born again relatives (who uses Sooner Care and lives on the edge of poverty) if she planned on breast feeding. She turned 6 colors, made a distasteful face and "On No!"
Breast feeding is healthier for the baby and the mother, yet another scientific fact that the religious nuts have discarded. |

WELL JO- REMEMBER FORMER STATE REP. BILL GRAVES (R-OKLAHOMA CITY)??
FLASHBACK TO 2004=
quote:
"Breast-feeding terms faulted"
Breast-feeding advocates are upset about an amendment in a House bill mandating that women nurse in a "discreet and modest way."
The women say the wording implies that breast-feeding is an immodest and sexual act, and not a right to nourish their children.
House Bill 2102 exempts breastfeeeding mothers from obscenity laws. It passed the House Monday after Rep. Bill Graves, R-Oklahoma City, added an amendment requiring mothers to cover their breasts while nursing.
"I think it is a bunch of feminists who want it where they can let it all hang out," Graves said Tuesday. "I think we ought to do things in a modest way. There's no problem covering it up with a blanket."
However, advocates say the wording could open the door to harrassment and discourage women from nursing.

| Another example of the wingnuts preoccupation with sexuality. Sometimes it seems that's all they think about. I know some of them that won't let their wives go to a male doctor. |

A couple of thoughts:
1. This is important because Cargill has set himself up as a moral model, both to his voters and to the rest of us whose alleged morality he seeks to regulate. Clinton never claimed to be perfect.
2. I understand the evidence includes two witnesses partially, but unfortunately not completely, corroborated by security tape. But I have not seen it.
3. I don't know who TW is. If it is Cargill's aide, the question becomes whether she is civil service--and therefore perhaps not a public figure for libel purposes--or an exempt (political) employee--in which case she has probably waived her non-public status. However, even public figures can sue for libel--it is just much harder for them to win. Caution is appropriate, but not necessarily silence.
4. One way or another, this issue needs to become public. I am absolutely fed up with the free pass given these guys.
Personally, I'd send him a certified letter asking him point blank to execute an affidavit swearing that he never did anything remotely like what is being reported. Force him to return it by certified mail. Let him know that if he refuses, that will be publicly reported: "Cargill won't deny sleazy tryst in office." If he denies it, this provides the basis for felony mail fraud charges if it can be proved that he lied. If he admits it, of course, that makes it really easy.
In fact, why not do this to the entire GOP majority in the House, covering a laundry list of the "sins" they constantly rail and/or legislate against? It will take money, guts and a good lawyer.

That election was between Graves and the most prosecutor-friendly (read: biased) judge in the courthouse. It was decidedly a race to choose the lesser of two evils, but I'm not convinced that's the way it turned out.
Besides, as a wise man once said (it could have been me): the lesser of two evils is still an evil. |

I went to a "100 Ideas" meeting yesterday. Looked like Cargill's pre-campaign for governor. Featured was a film about Cargill (wife, kids, Cargill's speech in House chamber) which reminded me of the films at national Demo & Repub conventions about their nominee for president. |

Cargill wasn't even there. Thad Balkman was there only long enough to welcome us, then he introduced two women in charge of the meeting and left. |
