Dear Friend,

As we continue to work through the difficulties presented by COVID-19, I hope you are continuing to stay safe and diligent in helping stop the spread. I am encouraged by how strong we have started our vaccination distribution, and I know with hard work and determination we can get Oklahoma on the right track.

We are full speed in the 2021 legislative session with a major bill deadline next week. I’ve been reviewing bills nonstop to push for better policies for all Oklahomans. A historic number of bills were filed for consideration, fourteen of which were my own. Among my top priorities are: improving the voter registration process, strengthening our state’s ethics system, and increasing government transparency.

Oklahoma must work on increasing trust surrounding our elections. Oklahoma’s ethics commission helps ensure our elected officials follow rules for state decisions to be both fair and transparent. I have filed several bills that relate to our ethics system. My bill SB 180 that requires legislators to receive training on our ethics rules failed in committee. My colleagues clearly do not see the importance of examining our power, conflicts of interest and potential ethical challenges further.

This session, I am serving on the Appropriations Committee along with those I served on previously, Finance, Rules, Military & Veteran’s Affairs and Health and Human Services Appropriations. This has put me in the middle of conversations about our budget priorities. More on that later…

Oklahomans have had a difficult year, and these are essential decisions as we continue to move forward as a state. I would love to see or hear from you! If you want to visit my office, please set up an appointment as we’re being careful about visitors during the pandemic. I prioritize meeting with constituents and love to see a friendly face during these long days at the capitol.

As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out via email at or phone at 405-521-5636. Follow along with regular updates from my official Facebook page or YouTube channel .

I am so honored to continue serving you. We have a lot of work to do over the next few months, but I know that with hard work we can continue building a better Oklahoma.
